*ANNOUNCEMENT ONE*:
I hope all of you have been enjoying this beautiful week. Unfortunately, I had a tooth pulled on Monday and - despite powerful painkillers - I am still in a lot of pain this morning. I am so sorry, but I won't be able to conduct our class today. I have added below notes and activities that I had planned for class today (Go to TODAY'S NOTES AND ACTIVITIES - February 8, 2017). You will be expected to read the notes and do whatever activities are provided. That way, we won't get behind on our class's agenda.
Please send me the following assignments - make sure your name is included on everything - as email attachments to ProfessorVerkler@aol.com TODAY.
Checking for understanding - Direct Teach
Adaptation of Instructional Materials and Rubric. If you completed this in a pair, each pair member needs to individually turn in this assignment with the rubric AND his/her reflection regarding what he/she contributed to the completion of this assignment. Make sure that you include your name on your rubric.
The KnightED Talks Student Showcase reflection and artifact(s) are due today. Make sure your name is included on ALL documents. You may scan your artifacts. Then make sure you send them with your reflection as email attachments.
If you have attended any of the KnightED Talks workshops and have written reflections on those, please send the reflections and artifacts to me. Remember, reflections and artifacts are to be submitted within two weeks of having attended whatever workshop for which you wrote the reflection. Make sure your name is included on ALL documents.
Although I will post this message on our course wiki and Web courses, please contact any classmates whose email addresses/cell numbers, etc. you know and let them know that our class will not meet today and that they need to go to our course wiki for directions. Thank you so much for this assistance.
I'm so sorry for this inconvenience. I would much rather see all of your smiling faces. If you have any questions, please feel free to send me an email.
Dr. Verkler

ASSIGNMENT DUE THIS WEEK:
1. Language games - complete game with rubric. Remember: If working in pairs/groups, each pair/group member must take responsibility for planning and organizing the assignments. Each pair/group member must complete at least one part of every pair assignment. This might involve being the person who: 1) starts a first draft for the other pair member to build on, 2) develops graphics, 3) gathers appropriate instructional resources, 4) does research, or 5) proofs and perfects the final version. For each pair assignment, each member will indicate that s/he contributed to and approves the final product and will complete an individual reflection describing her/his contribution to the end product. This statement is to be attached to the completed assignment. Assignments lacking this statement will not be accepted.
The game must be submitted in a thematic (matching the game’s content) container. Games submitted without a container will not be accepted.
